Welcome to my music page. There are mainly three types of music that I listen to on a regular basis. I decided to include some links to my favorite artists, because I almost always have music on. This page highlights country, classical and modern acappella music:

Acappella music - while many of my friends and family are not particularly fond of this music genre, I have become a big fan of collegiate, semi-pro, and professional acappella groups since it was introduced to me by my college roommate. The Best of Collegiate A Cappella (BOCA) series of CDs provide an opportunity to listen to music from some of the best collegiate groups in the country. Rockapella is one of the all-time best professional groups. Even if you care nothing about acappella music, you should listen to some of their songs, they are unbelievable. If you are more interested in comedic acappella music, try Da Vinci's Notebook: Play "The Gates" when your laptop crashes, it will help put a smile back on your face. Other great songs by them include "The Window Washing Cowboy," "Secret Asian Man," and the boy band medley, "Title of the Song." Another group, in the style of Da Vinci's Notebook, is called Moosebutter. Their songs include "Harry Potter," "Star Wars" and "Psycho: The Musical;" you can download samples from their web site. There are two more groups that I recommend: 1 - Toxic Audio, and 2 - PlayBack (formerly Six Appeal).

My Classical Music appreciation is still evolving. I enjoy many different classical periods, including Baroque, Classical, and Contemporary. I am big fan of choral music, and I have been ever since I attended a performance of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana in college. Beethoven's Ode to Joy from his Ninth Symphony is one of my all time favorite works. Other composers that I listen to often include: Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Gustav Holst. Holst's The Planets are of special interest to me as an amateur astronomer. Vanessa Mae is an artist who has successfully introduced the violin into modern music through her own classical fusion music creations. If you like classical and modern music, check out Vanessa Mae's music. I purchased my first subscription to the symphony this year, and I am looking forward to enjoying the Masterworks Series performed by the Hartford Symphony.

I've been listening to country music since I was a kid. Today I enjoy music by Martina McBride, The Dixie Chicks, Sara Evans, Lonestar, and Alison Krauss and Union Station. Alison Krauss' music has led me to develop an interest in Bluegrass music as well. In addition to Alison Krauss, I enjoy Ralph Stanley, Earl Scruggs, and Rhonda Vincent.
